Ubud Cultural and Rice Terrace Highlights

This is the classic first day in Bali and a good choice if you want to see the island's cultural heart without rushing. You will see how rice, water and ritual fit together, from the terraces at Tegalalang to the holy spring at Tirta Empul, then taste Balinese coffee and spices at a plantation and finish in the palace and market district of Ubud. Because the group is private, your driver-guide can adjust the order and length of each stop. What to expect? • Short walks at each stop, with comfortable drives in an air-conditioned car in between. • Tegalalang and the Monkey Forest get busy by midday, so your guide may change the order of stops to avoid the peak crowds. • The coffee and spice tasting is free, and there is no pressure to buy. • At Tirta Empul you can watch or join the purification ritual; a sarong and sash are provided.
